No trip to Laguna Beach is complete without partaking in some type of water activity, whether that means snorkeling, surfing, checking out tide pools or simply enjoying the salty water on the Southern California coast. In this little village community, there are many outdoor activities to do including biking, fishing, hiking or diving to see some of the nature and beauty that Laguna Beach has to offer.

The water temperature in Laguna Beach during the summer is perfect for snorkeling and visiting the tide pools to see what kind of sea life calls Laguna Beach its home. At Heisler Park Ecological Preserve, tides in Laguna Beach bring starfish, sea anemones and urchins to the tide pools, making it a great location to wander around and even snorkel to get an up front look of sea creatures in their natural habitat. According to some, Laguna Beach has many of the best scuba diving locations in all of Southern California, so getting out there in the surf is a perfect way to spend a summer day.

While other cities like Huntington Beach or Santa Monica are known for being surfing destinations for California, Laguna Beach surf is not too shabby. Beaches perfect for surfing include Sleepy Hallow Beach, South Laguna Beach and Aliso Beach all creating that perfect wave to surf back to the sand. Don’t know how to surf? Surfing schools around the beach offer lessons, and in no time you too will be hitting the waves like a native Californian. Anyone who chooses to surf in Laguna Beach will have a great day out in the warm water and sunshine, creating an ideal vacation getaway.

Other water sports like kayaking are also popular to visitors and locals from Laguna Beach. Head out the Laguna Coast Wilderness Park to relax and check out all the sights and sounds of the ocean and surrounding areas. Of course a beach trips can also mean relaxing on the sand, getting some sun, body surfing in the warm ocean or building an old fashioned sand castle.

Many popular beach activities include riding a beach cruiser along the coastline, roller skating, getting together a team for beach volleyball or playing with a Frisbee. Laguna Beach is perfect for just about any surf and sand sport, since it offers great scenery and perfect temperatures for fun in the sun!
