Transport in Laguna Beach
While on vacation in an unfamiliar place, finding your way around without any hassles is important to have a memorable stay. Using Laguna’s public transportation is also a good idea during peak visiting times to the city of Laguna Beach, especially in the summer. As with many California beaches, Laguna Beach parking is often scarce and you can waste plenty of time trying to find a parking spot.
For those visiting Laguna Beach from another state or even Northern California, the closest airport is the John Wayne/Orange County Airport. The airport offers plenty of transportation options including shuttles to hotels, limousines for special occasions or getaways, rental cars, taxis and even buses that head into Laguna Beach. If you plan on staying near the coast during a vacation, a Laguna Beach car rental is an ideal option to get around Orange County, or “The OC” as Southern California residents call it. Especially convenient are the many car rental options located at the airport, including Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Budget Rent-A-Car, Hertz and Alamo among others.
From Laguna Beach, there are many tourist destinations to visit, like the world famous Disneyland, located just miles away in the city of Anaheim. Knott’s Berry Farm and Medieval Times in Buena Park are also located within a short driving distance of Laguna Beach.
During peak traffic times, walking down to the beach is one of the best options to saving time and energy finding a parking spot. At different locations in the city, trams run between parking lots and the downtown area non-stop in order to get people where they want to go. One convenient parking location is near Laguna Canyon, where the tram runs straight into downtown. Free public Laguna Beach transportation options allows travelers to enjoy their surroundings instead of being stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic.
No matter how you get to Laguna Beach, using the public transportation or free trams while you’re there is an ideal way to get around avoiding traffic and Laguna Beach parking costs. Within every beach city, most residents take their beach cruiser bikes and ride around, stopping at shopping locations, dining venues and for hitting the beachfront and laying out in the sand. Bike rentals are available on many of the main streets within Laguna Beach, as well as on the coastline at beach shacks near the piers. Enjoy Laguna Beach like a local, and get out to enjoy the surf, sun and sand, leaving your car behind!
